What's the strongest fleet?

Currently there's no single fleet that stands out above the rest, but there are many that are strong enough to cause problems for top players on offense. I'll be listing as many of those as I am aware of below.

Hound's Tooth

Before even bothering to read further, it should be noted that Hound's Tooth is the single most powerful ship in fleet currently. No contest. It is in every single top meta fleet, and not having it hurts you. If you are even slightly interested in getting high ranks in Fleet Arena, farm both Hound's Tooth and its Pilot, Bossk to 7 stars and G12 as soon as you can manage. The meta is shifting as we speak, and if you haven't switched to Hound's Tooth you're probably already behind the curve and dropping like a rock. If you don't have this ship, you should farm it, but for the meantime, a good Tie Advanced X1 and Phantom under the Chimaera should be able to take out Hound's Tooth.

Which Capital Ships are the best?

Currently Executrix, Endurance and Chimaera stand out as the strongest capital ships in arena. However all 4 available capital ships are viable at the top, and they each have their own strengths and weaknesses.

The Frontline

Each of these lineups is a rough estimation of the team. So many ships are viable to be used alongside Hound's Tooth that it would be a very very long post if I listed every possible combination.

Executrix Bounty Hunters

Hound's Tooth, Xanadu Blood & Ghost. This team is currently the most widely accepted meta fleet we know of on the fleet server. Xanadu Blood is able to dish out a ton of damage while also being very difficult to lock down. Ghost has a ton of utility, Stealthing Xanadu Blood, reducing opponent's potency and inflicting debuffs on enemies to trigger Executrix's passive offense boost. This lineup utilizes Phantom II and TIE Advanced x1 as primary reinforcements. Phantom can deliver a huge single damage burst off the bench, while increasing Ghost's survivability and allowing the next reinforcement to come out sooner. Overall this team is remarkably nasty to face.

Geo Trio & Hound's Tooth

Probably the most popular meta team currently due to the unavailability of Xanadu Blood and Anakin's Eta-2 Starfighter, the Geo Trio and Hound's Tooth have a great deal of versatility. The burst damage of the Trio is still relevant, and putting either Sun Fac or Geo Spy as a reinforcement adds some extra utility dependent on what enemy you're facing. This team can be run under any capital ship with any of a wide variety of other reinforcements, but most commonly shows up under Executrix for his excellent AI and huge offensive capabilities.

Endurance Time-Out teams

A newcomer to the meta with the introduction of Anakin's Eta-2 Starfighter, Endurance teams live up to their name. Hound's Tooth becomes very difficult to deal with when combined with Endurance's Healing, Critical Hit Immunity and Protection Up. Now with Anakin in the mix Galactic Republic ships are able to dish out much heavier damage. Common teams include Anakin, Hound's Tooth and Plo/Vader/Fives/Gauntlet. Ahsoka as a reinforcement is also very powerful, hitting very very hard. This team is currently the big unknown of the meta, since it's so new we have little information on how to use it or beat it, though some success has been had with Chimaera sustain fleets and fleets utilizing TIE Silencer on the frontline.

Empire

An under-utilized but very interesting lineup that's seeing some love is Gauntlet Starfighter/Hound's Tooth/Imperial TIE Fighter, under Executrix, pulling in Vader and Reaper as reinforcements. The added survivability Gauntlet provides, plus the doubled offense boost Executrix gives to Empire allies is proving to be a powerful combination.

Bistan the Over-Achiever

Bistan's U-Wing has been a wild card in fleet since before Ships 2.0, and his status is more or less unchanged. Extremely difficult to gear, but proving to be well worth the effort, Bistan/Hound's Tooth/Imperial TIE Fighter can auto many other meta fleets.

First Order

Now that we have a strong tank that can work with just about any lineup, we're seeing a lot of teams that were on the cusp of being meta. Unfortunately First Order teams don't seem to perform overly well on defense, but they can compete with the best of them on offense. The variation most often seen is TIE Silencer/Hound's Tooth/Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle.

There are likely other combinations that are being used successfully, however those listed above are the most common at the moment.

Reinforcements

The following is a list of notable reinforcements that people are using.

TIE Advanced x1

A favorite for a long time now, Taxi has served as an excellent reinforcement for his offense down on all enemies under any capital ship. But he truly shines reinforcing under Executrix, where his RI ability gives allies a huge offense boost.

Phantom II

Another long time favorite of the fleet server, Phantom can reinforce and deliver a massive single target attack, often being able to finish off ships with no protection. On top of that this ship's RI ability reduces the number of turns before you can call your next reinforcement, which can be a big advantage.

Plo Koon's Jedi Starfighter

Plo is a great clutch reinforcement, coming in and cleansing allies and restoring health and protection. Very helpful if you're falling behind.

Cassian's U-Wing

Probably the best utility reinforcement in the game currently, Cassian's U-Wing can just do so much. He dispels buffs on all enemies, can call an assist, can stealth an ally, can cleanse an ally and inflicts irresistible Target Lock.

Lando's Millennium Falcon

The best choice for a backend reinforcement, especially in timeout teams, Lando's Falcon is almost like a second ultimate ability, since he can take up to 4 turns in a row, dealing some pretty decent damage.

Poe Dameron's X-Wing

Long time nuke reinforcement, Poe's X-Wing remains one of the best finishers around. Need that little bit of extra damage to finish an enemy off? Poe is your guy.

Ahsoka Tano's Jedi Starfighter

Another nuke reinforcement, Ahsoka's special can hit very hard. However one of the best things about her is that she can dispel enemies. She's especially good against Hound's Tooth.

Geonosian Spy's Starfighter

A bit more niche, since it mainly sees use with the other Geos, Spy is able to force taunt a random enemy, which can aid you in wiping out enemies hidden behind Hound's Tooth.

Sun Fac's Geonosian Starfighter

Less niche than Geo Spy, Sun Fac's stunning reinforcement ability as well as his generally absurd tankiness has cemented him as a great reinforcement if you need to control the battle better.

Wedge Antilles' X-Wing

A bit conditional, but nonetheless still useful, Wedge has proven to be a useful Hound's Tooth counter under the right circumstances, and many people run him as a backend reinforcement to be called when the stars align to allow you to wipe out HT more easily.

There are plenty of other ships seeing use as reinforcements, however those listed above are among the most often used.
