Fearsome Attacker that applies AoE Damage Over Time, and crushes debuffed targets for extra turns

Race: Caucasian Human

Home Planet: Tatooine

Affiliations: Empire, Sith

Once considered the Chosen One of the Jedi Order, Anakin Skywalker fell to the Dark Side of the Force in an effort to protect his wife, Padmé Amidala, from visions of her demise. After accepting allegiance to the Dark Side, Emperor Palpatine christened Anakin "Darth Vader". Following Vader's killing of remaining Separatist leaders on the lava-planet Mustafar, he encountered and fought his master, Obi-Wan Kenobi. In the heat of battle, Kenobi cut down Anakin, leaving him to slowly burn by a lava river. Palpatine arrived to rescue Anakin, piecing him back together as a half-human, half-cyborg Dark Lord of the Sith.

Substantially colder and more ruthless than in his previous life as Anakin, Vader would regularly make examples of Imperial officers who failed him by strangling them to death with the Force. Vader's tactical abilities, however, were still second-to-none, and he commanded respect from all ranks of the Empire, including notable figures such as Grand Admiral Thrawn and Grand Moff Tarkin.

Further Media Appearance

Where the character is found aside from GoH game. So which movies, which bigger video games etc (in some cases books/comics may be relevant)

- Excellent in the Rancor and AAT raids as a leader, especially if his leadership ability has been Zeta'd.

PvP (TW/Arena):

- Works best as a supportive attacker under a Zeta Emperor Palpatine leadership.

- Excellent utility against high health characters with Damage Over Time debuffs (Enfys Nest, Tanks).

- Preferred team composition: Palpatine (L), Vader, Thrawn, Nihilus, Sion

- Used to counter: Nightsisters + Nest, Bounty Hunters, First Order, Scoundrel/Prepared.

- Poor in the Heroic Sith Triumvirate Raid, as each boss has high Tenacity and gain stacking Tenacity on damage.

- Best used in a 'kitchen sink' squad during phase 4, after Darth Nihilus and Darth Sion have been defeated

PvP (TW/Arena):

- Debilitated by Foresight and Tenacity Up / high Tenacity modded teams. Would require a character with dispel if the opposition is relying on Tenacity Up.

- Poor utility against characters who feed off of debuffs for additional benefits (e.g. Thrawn leadership, the Triumvirate Sith)

Farming Locations

- Player Achievements

- Datacard pack of cash value ($20.00)

- Fleet shipments (rare drops)

Vader gains the most utility in a team which uses multiple debuffs against the opponent. His special, Culling Blade, grants additional offense on the move per debuff that is cleared from the character that Vader targets. If Vader successfully kills the target, he gains 100% TM, going again. Under a zPalpatine lead, Vader gains speed benefits (20% TM per debuff placed on each enemy) and healing benefits (20% max health heal per debuff placed on each enemy), in addition to Culling Blade acting as a TM engine (5% TM gained by Empire and Sith per debuff lost on an enemy). Essentially, Vader can theoretically take three turns in a row (AOE --> Culling Blade killing someone --> Basic attack), making him quite dangerous., in addition to speeding up everyone else on the team.

Vader is also a useful control piece, as his basic can land Ability Block on characters (guaranteed on Jedi and Rebel enemies). If you need to stop a character from doing something, such as Bossk taunting or Talzin using her AOE, Vader's basic can be a crucial, yet RNG-heavy, tool to use.

Vader's Culling Blade attack is derived from a scene in Episode VI where he throws his lightsaber at Luke.
